What was the differential size(s) in hot
1961-1964 Dodges and Plymouths—for
example, the Max Wedge cars? The
Ramchargers always used 4.56 Sure-
Grip rears, but the size was never mentioned.

They all used the ubiquitous Chrysler built
8.75˝ ring gear “drop out” carrier,
and all were the beefy 1.75˝ pinion
stem (engineering P/N 2070742 or
1634985), and all used the Spicer-supplied
Power-Lock (4-pinion) Sure-
Grip differential. In the era you quote,
all also used tapered axle shafts with
the nut-retained, keyed flange. All also
used the ball and trunnion front universal
joint.
