Saggy Cylinders
I’ve purchased a ’72 Barracuda where
the 318 was replaced with a 440. I did not
notice originally, but the engine appears to
be low, in that the tie rod is lightly contacting
the bottom of the oil pan, and the lower
radiator hose is resting on the crossmember.
Is there an easy fix?
Assuming that the swap was done correctly,
my best guess is that the insulators
(“motor mounts”) have simply compressed
with age. You may want to consider the
urethane upgrade from engne-swaps.com
(Schumacher).
