Bare It All

I have two 440 bare blocks for my ‘69
Road Runner. One has pad numbers:
E440 3-25 HP2. Number 2 has pad
numbers: E440 2-4 HP2. It is a Canadian
car and the A12 registry has stated
these cars were probably built in April
and shipped in May of 1969. The original
engine is long gone. My question is,
which block would be closest to the build
date of my car please?

I’ll take your build dates (of the car) as
fact; data plate or broadcast sheet info
would have been nice to have.
Generally, big blocks were assembled
(not necessarily cast) anything from a
week to a few months before the car was
built. Chrysler, back in the day, wasn’t
the best at obeying the usual factory
“first in, first out” rule. Given that factoid,
nobody could ever say that either was
incorrect. Until, of course, they look at
the VIN pad!
