Manifooling Around
I picked up a set of SB Hi Po exhaust
manifolds at the Nats. It is for my ’71
’Cuda 340 for when I put it back in my
numbers matching car. The manifolds
I picked up are 1973 Hi Po exhausts.
Is there much performance difference
between the ’73 Hi Po versus ’71 Hi
Po’s?
No, but the right-side manifold
on ’68-’70 models was
much better flowing. ’71-
up, they went to a sleazy
log manifold to save cost,
mostly because the $pendy
90-degree oil filter adapter
was no longer required.
Clearly the ’73 manifolds
will not be 100-point resto
correct for ’71, but they will
100% bolt on to the head and
pipes.
