Frank In Da Hood

0

I have a ’71 Demon 340, I replaced the
stock engine hood with a fiberglass hood
and a six-pack hood scoop. The springs
located on the hinges are way too stiff. Is
there an aftermarket alternative substitute
for the springs, or what would you suggest?

I have a prop rod but its looks are not
appealing.

Aftermarket reduced-tension A-body
hood hinge springs are available,

Yes, there are “weaker” clockspings. Try
an email to happee_feelings@yahoo.com,
or check junkyard K-car springs. Remember,
however, that spring-counterbalanced
fiberglass hoods always develop a bow in
the center of both edges.
