Rub-A-Dub Tub

On a ’70 Super Bee, I relocated the rear springs into the
longitudinals and minitubbed it by simply
cutting the center of the wheel well and
moving it into the side of the frame rail
then stripping in 3 inches of sheet metal
and also moving perches over 3 inches.
I have a stock width original 70 B-body

8.75 rear end. The 15×7˝ rims have a 4.5˝
offset. Since I moved everything inwards
back 3 inches, could I just order a 15×10˝
wheels with a 7.5˝ offset and still retain
original look and fitment?
I know you will tell me to mock it up
and measure and/or just get inventive
with a square and do some math, but
the car is on a rotisserie for body work
and will be some time before I can mock
it up. This is more of curiosity about the
simplicity of just adding 3 inches to the
back of the wheel since I added 3 inches
of space. Tires section width and wheel
lip being relative to the tires I had on the
15×7˝ rims with plenty of clearance.
I’m a 50 year old lifelong Mopar guy and
met you at Monster Mopar weekend 1998
(Red ’74 D100 440 six pack daily driver
running high 12’s) and also some emails
about this car too, some years back.

Most OEM wheels have
approximately zero offset, so
I think you may have a little
terminology problem there. I
think you will want wheels with
around +3˝ (+75mm) offset.
