Reluctant Reluctor

0

1972 Duster, now with 360. I am replacing
the pickup coil in the distributor and
need to know how to remove the spring clip
inside the hollow shaft that keeps the reluctor
in place. I can’t seem to find info on it.
Most articles just say to pry off the reluctor.

The articles are correct. A simple
screwdriver will do it. The spring clip
(under the felt wick) doesn’t need to be
removed unless you are removing the
stop plate. The reluctor is retained only by
friction and gravity. Don’t lose the roll pin
(which may come loose when you remove
the reluctor), and replace the reluctor
clocked as you found it (mark it prior to
removal).
