Not A Hemi Guy
Two years ago, Anthony Nibblins
from Fredericksburg
Virginia traded in his Hemi Ram
Sport because he was starting a
new job. While he loved his truck,
his new commute demanded
something with better gas mileage.
He was looking for a nice
4-banger when he saw the Dodge
Avenger and fell in love with the
body lines. Comparing the stickers
between the Four and the Six
engines, he saw only a 2 MPG
difference. But V6’s extra 100
HP made the coice a no-brainer.
Even before Tony had made his
first payment, he had installed a
Corsa catback exhaust and Mopar
cold air intake. But it didn’t stop
there. Over the last two years Tony
had added a Mopar strut brace,
Spectre piping, Fastman ported
throttle body with custom spacer,
Modern Muscle ported intake
manifold, Diablo Trinity tuner with
Hemifever 93/E85 tune, Mishimoto
carbon fiber catch can, poly bushings
engine mounts, drilled rotors
with ceramic pads H&R lowering
springs and more. Dress-up items
include a GTG billet grille and 200
Super S air deflector. On the dyno,
the V6 registered 267 HP and 270
TQ, and it still gets over 30 mpg.
Tony says that you don’t have run
a Hemi owner to be a Mopar guy.
