Matchless
1972 Demon 340. VIN is
LM29H2B239266 Number on
block pad is 2B293266 – the 9
and 3 are wrong. Could this be
an error? Is it still considered
numbers matching?
I don’t think anyone can
ever prove or disprove this, but
my educated guess is that it
was a simple typo and you do
have the original block. The
odds of the other possibility
are sky-high. If the pour date
of the block is reasonable in
relation to the car’s build date,
that’d be another mark in the
“win” column.
