The race-gas motor, which has sucked up $300 of Dave’s life savings, sports a homemade ram air setup through the inner headlight sockets. Backing the motor is a homebuilt 727 with a 10-in. converter. The rear gears are the original 4.10s. So far, his total investment in the D100 is three grand. On the strip, the truck cuts 1.595-sec 60-ft. times and turns 12.19 @ 105.88 in the quarter.
