42nd Concours d’Elegance of America
By Marc Rozman
Like many automotive related events this Concours was cancelled last year due to COVID-19. But this year it was a very successful event with record attendance. It was also faced with the challenge of having to revamp the entire show field due to the rains that took place overnight, moving the show field into the large parking lot.
We are fortunate here in the Detroit area to be the home base for many of the auto companies and suppliers, with many being sponsors that help make these events happen. There is also a base of active and retired designers, engineers and car buffs that volunteer their time to be staff members and judges.
One of the more recent feature displays involves Drag Cars and Muscle Cars, put together by a selection committee headed up by none other than Bob Ashton–the managing member of the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, better known as MCACN. Bob puts his heart and soul into everything he does and the results show for it as many of you know if you have attended.
There were many outstanding Mopars among the many different displays and we all have our favorites. Enjoy!
