Snubbed

My question has to do with the necessity of the use of a pinion snubber on my vehicle, a 1972 Scamp with a 360. Do I need to use it, or can I get away without the use of one? I have an 8¾˝ Sure Grip but will not be using the car at the drags. An occasional stop light to stop light run and the usual “beer run” driving.

The pinion snubber is only needed at launch or in cases of wheel hop. But you’d be amazed at how much axle windup there is on even a “mild” street launch. So, basically, yes, you need it. But, reading between the lines, no, you do not need an adjust- able aftermarket setup, just the stock/OEM bumper setup.
