I have a ’68 Coronet R/T, 400, 4-speed, that I have owned for about 10 years. I try to correct as many details as I can (the car was restored, only semi-profession- ally, before I bought it). My friend Hector says I am missing the splash shield that the left steering rod passed under, his ’68 Super Bee has it. What can you tell me about this—and is he right?
Hector is neither correct nor incorrect. The large splash shield he is referring to was only used on automatic cars, so I will assume his is a TorqueFlite. See the factory drawing below for lots more info.
