Brian Wethern’s uncle
Mark, bought this ’76
Dodge Aspen R/T new. He
originally wanted a black
car with orange stripe, but
they were sold out. So he
settled for this Spitfire Orange
hue. The car eventually was
bought, or given, to Brian’s
parents. It had never seen snow, even in wintery North Saint Paul,
MN, and had been rained on only six times. Now owned by Brian,
the original 318 has been
swapped for a 360, the 727
booted for an A833 4-speed
and the 2.91 rear gear
replaced by a 3.91 ratio.
Brian and his uncle worked
on the car together and
freshened up the interior and
upgraded the sound system.
According to Brian, very few
things remain original on this
46,000-mile ride including the paint and seatbelts.
