Max Factor

Were all 413’s Max Wedges or could you get a standard 413?

Andy,

99.9% of all 413s were low-perf “station wagon” engines with very mild cams, log manifolds, etc. There were also some long-ram and other street-performance 413s (e.g.: Chrysler 300). But with the ready availability of larger-bore junkyard blocks (i.e., 400 and 440 CID) there’s very little valid reason to build a non-maxi 413, unless it’s for a dead-stock 100-pointrestoration.
