Flew North

Ken Moffatt, from Richmond, BC, Canada, purchased this stock ’71 383 Road Runner back in 2001, from a seller in Lantzville, on Vancouver Island. Options included the rare orange and black bucket seat interior, and orange painted steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps. Up in Canada, they call the dog dishes “poverty caps” (ah, those Canadians, eh?) Not wanting to take down the neighborhood, Ken swapped the povertys for rallyes. The ‘Runner also came equipped with a 3.23 Sure-Grip, power steering and power disc brakes. Only 554 ’71 birds flew north to Canada as export models. Those railroad shipping containers in the background, by the way, are packed full of the current issue of Mopar Action, and are headed for the two 7-11 stores in Montreal—the only place in North America where you can find them on the newsstand.
