Aaron Smith, from Galveston, IN, found this ’72 318/904 Charger in stock condition, in a junkyard for $300. He popped in a new battery and drove it home. He gave the car to his then girlfriend, and she put new tires on the original wheels and she fixed the a/c in her auto shop class. After the pair broke up, Aaron married another girl. He was driving a ’68 440 Coronet at the time, and it got stolen. He contacted his old girlfriend, and she agreed to give him the Charger—for $150. Aaron really got upset because he had to pay for the car twice. He recharged the a/c, painted the car, added a 6-Pack scoop, A.R.E. wheels, and a Go-wing and front airdam. He says the original 318 still runs like a top, dumping gas through dual 2 1/4″ Flowmasters with 3″ chrome tips. The clock currently shows some150,000 miles. Aaron plans to swap in a 383/727 combo. The best part, he says, is that his 6-year-old boy and 5-year-old girl love daddy’s fast green car. That’s all that matters to him.
