Gertrude and the Banger

Brian Banger Thornton, from Edgewater, MD (Check out his tattoo in Readers Tattoos), bought his ’70 340 Swinger from the original owner—a little old lady, named Gertrude, in Fairmont, WV. The car had only 40K on the clock. The car has been repainted its original color, and the engine is what came from the factory, but the carb, manifold and cam were swapped to up the ponies to about 370. the rear gears also were swapped to a 3.90 ratio. Brian says that he’s entered the car in a few shows and won his class at the show at the Hyatt in Cambridge, MD last year.
