Kyle Johnson, Lowell, MI, 1971 Plymouth Duster 340
Im looking at upgrading my existing OE points distributor tothe factory style electronic ignition on my 340. My question is thedifference of the standard “orange” box to the Rev-n-nator box that i see alot of guys using. Curious if there is any significant improvement inperformance or if its more of a sales pitch. Any help would be great.

Let’s put it this way: if there’s no misfiring, any “improvement” inignitions gets you NOTHING. Zero. Nada. If you’re running 20 PSI boost,15:1 compression, etc., and “blowing out” the spark, then more ignitionenergy is called for. While I have no personal experience with the ECU youmention, I have no reason to suspect it isn’t a good piece, but, as I said,I doubt it will buy you anything in 99.7% of the cases.
