Tech Question
Michael Follis, Belvidere, IL, 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II, 383
I have a 383 engine in my car. Near the intake manifold onthe left side of motor, there is a half moon opening, my question is ifsomething should fall down that hole will this cause damage, where will theobject end up, should I stress over this problem? I thank you for all yourhelp, However if you do not want to answer, I will understand, for thisrebuild has stressed my wallet also.

It isn’t a problem, the passage you are referring to dead-ends, it isbasically there to save a bit of iron and insulate the exhaust crossoverpassage inside. I just wouldn’t stuff it with anything flammable.
