2010 3.5L Turbo/Supercharger

Tech Question

Dave Schwartz, Cape Coral, FL, 2010 Dodge Challenger 3.5

Hi Rick, I have a 2010 Dodge Challenger S/E. She is infernored and dressed up nicely. I was wondering if you could shed some light onadding a turbo set up or a supercharger for my V6. I use 89-93 Octane allthe time and have only 23,000 miles on her (Christine). Do you think thatthe 3.5 can handle a set up like a turbo or a supercharger? I am sick of allthe imports wanting to race and the car just does not have the umph. I havea CAI on her and added dual exhaust. Please shed some light on the engineand what your thoughts are about adding aftermarket parts. And no, I can’tafford a HEMI. I love my car and she still gets lots of looks.

Thank you,
Dave

Dave-

Short answer: No. Expanded just a bit: Bad idea. Just briefly: Pistons, rods, bottom end, tranny too weak, plumbing nightmare, and how would youcalibrate it?

I hear you, re: $$$. But no matter how you slice and dice it, swapping /trading for a Hemi-equipped car — or a later 3.6L V6-equipped LC — is acheaper and way better plan. The old “champagne taste, beer budget” problem!

Sorry,

Rick
