13 flat, 30 MPG, $1300

Gas is expensive. So are new cars that get decent mileage.
And Mopar guys still wanna go fast. How to reconcile?
Ehrenberg's kid took a page from the recent history of the former Chrysler Corporation, and picked up a paint-peeling, blown-head-gasket '91 Dodge Spirit R/T for $1000. He added 'bout $300 worth of used parts and mods. result: Thirteen flat at 103. And 30 MPG. For a total of $1300. (Yes, the head gasket is still blown!)

Not bad for a 2.2L with 130,000 miles!
Read all about it in an upcoming issue of Mopar Action.
