Crank Register

Tech Question

Dave Bertrand, Hamilton, Canada, 1972 Plymouth Scamp 340

I have a 1972 Scamp. The car has 1970 340 with a 904automatic and a 8.75 sure grip with 3:23.1. I plan on installing a 833 4speed trans. My question is: Do all crankshafts have a provision for the”Register”? I have read different things in regards to this. Some cranks aremachined and some are not. Any helpful information would be great.

Regards, Mopar Dave.

They all have provision for the roller type pilot bearing that pilots on theT/conv register, and all forged cranks (incl. your 1970 340) will accept theolder Oilite bushing as well.
