hi, great tech. My question is: I’m having a freind do a camchange for me, he said maybe we have to drop the oil pan is this true? It isa 69 440 motor.

Not true.
You do have to snip the front of the pan gasket (box cutter, razor blade,etc) – this will be obvious when you remove the timing cover. FelProprovides a partial gasket, or just use RTV.
