BURTON GOFF, ALBRIGHT, WV, 88 DODGE DAKOTA 366
I have a 88 short bed Dakota with a 360, 727, and 4.10 8-3/4. I have hadmultiple trans shops work on the trans and can not raise WOT shift points toabove 4000 RPM. The trans works perfectly other than this problem. It chirps2nd and 3rd. It does seem not to shift as firmly if shifted manually. I’vebeen told to buy a governor kit but have not found one listed anywhere. Anyhelp or ideas? Thanks.
Burt, A&A Transmission, in suburban Indianapolis, has high-upshift-speedgovernor kits in several RPM ranges.
They are easy to swap and do NOT require trans removal, only slipping offthe extension housing.
