Im wanting to put a 383 or 440 in this dart, I have a 904 tranny, will these size motors work with this 904 transmission?
The smallblocks (LA273-360) and the big blocks (B350 thru RB440) have entirely different cylinder block rear face bolt patterns. So the transmissions cannot interchange. And, while the big A-727 transmission was built in numerous versions, including ones for G, LA, and B/RB engines, the small A-904 (originally designated "TorqueFlite 6") was never built in a big-block version.
You need a big-block 727 trans, easily identified by large numbers on the side reading: "A-727-B"
