Dave Darke, Cambridge, ON Canada, 1973 Plymouth Barracuda 340

I started up my car for the first time since the winter months and it seems that I now have a ticking sound like a sticking lifter.
Is there something I can do to get rid of this ticking? Is it an exhaust leak possibly?

Lifter noise does not vary with load or throttle angle, an exhaust leak does.

Sickly lifters can sometimes be freed up with an additive (Marvel Mystery Oil, etc.) A single-cyl exhaust leak, however (broken stud in head, warped manifold, etc.) requires actual wrench-twisting.
