what is the axle track for the 9 1/4" rear end from a B-van? Will it fit my F-body as is? This is the only plentiful rear end with an acceptable price.

the B-van axle assembly way, way too wide. The only one that even comes close would be from a Dakota pickup (which had 9.25" axles starting with the '92 318.)
But any 9.25" could be narrowed by a competent shop like Moser Engineering. Then you'd be able to have wide wheels exactly cenetered in the wheel openings, etc.
