DWIGHT VANGSTAD, isanti, MN, 1972 plymouth cuda 440
I Have A A833 4 Speed Trans With The 23 Spline Input Shaft, will It Hold Up To A Built 440? Would Replacing The Input Shaft With The 18 spline Make Any Difference?
Dwight, it depends, mostly, on traction and abuse level. Granny shifted, it would last for decades. Hammered, it's very marginal.
You can't swap only the main drive pinion and get the strength increase you need...the whole gearset is different in a Hemi trans.
