Tech QuestionCraig Rocksvold, Waukon, IA, 72 Plymouth Cuda 340 I am changing my auto transmission to a 4 speed. I purchased a long shaft rear mount 833 which turned out to be an overdrive unit, even though it has a cast iron case. I'm wondering if this tranny will handle a 340 with 325 horse. Can you convert this tranny to a regular gear set or put in the gear set from a b-body tranny? Thanks for your expertise and advice. Craig, it will handle that HP and torque level easily - it's just as strong as any other 23-spline A-833. And, yes, you can swap internals. But first, why not consider using it as-is? With, say, a 3.55 gear, this might turn out to be a pretty nice combination. Rick
