I have an A-727A tranny with the Slap Stick shifter. I'm trying to get the transmission to shift harder. I'd like to burp the rear tires going into second gear. Any help? The transmission has a fresh rebuild. I've been told to use Ford ATF.
Sure! No-buck tricks:
> Type F ATF
> Max line pressure adjustment
> Toss accumulator spring
...beyond that, you'll need a shift kit. There are lots of good ones out there, I've always liked the B&M TransPak because it goes a little beyomd the valve body, including some servo parts, too. Installation will take you 2-3 hours.
