Tech Question

Orion Stell, Fort Smith, AR, 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T 440

I am in the process of restoring my R/T, and I am wanting to strip the undercoating. I have heard it may contain ASBESTOS. What is the best way to rid this in a safe manor?

Orion, if there is any asbestos, it is 100% encapsulated in the heavy asphalt-based undercoating slurry, so I don't see any hazard whatsoever. No matter how you scrape it, the heavy chunks will fall to the ground and virtually zero asbestos fibers would be breathable.
